International Marma Therapy Workshop

Marma therapy is an ancient non-pharmacological and non invasive technique which has nowadays increasingly being used for the treatment. Marma comes from the Sanskrit “Mru”, which means “To Kill.” It signifies that there is likelihood of death or serious damage to health after infliction to these places and these areas are called marma. A marma specialist has the knowledge of these same points for the purpose of healing. Hence, marma therapy is the art of stimulating vital points of an individual for rechannelization of energy (Prana), in exactly the right place of Marma (mentioned by Acharya Sushruta) at a critical moment of time for purpose of healing. Stimulation of vital energy points have been proven (by measuring them both in biochemical studies of blood and Cerebrospinal Fluid) to release endogenous opioids viz Endorphins, Enkephalins, dynorphins, and increases production of neurotransmitters such as serotonin and GABA (Gamma Amino butyric Acid) and regulates cortisol the main stress hormone. So, marma therapy is an important tool for both disease prevention and disease treatment in Ayurveda.

A Five day (20 Hours) Marma Therapy workshop for Musculoskeletal and Lifestyle Disorders will be conducted by world renowned International Marma Therapy Specialist Dr Shishir Prasad MS (Ay), Assoc Professor-PG dept of Shalya Tantra ,Gurukul Campus U.A.U.

• Prakriti Parikshan through Ayurved.
• Basics of Marmas and their historical Significance.

• Technique of Stimulation of each Marmas.
• Clinical application of each Marmas and how to use them in combination.

The fee structure is as follows :

Before Dec 31st 2017:

• 350 Euros without accommodation
• 800 Euro with Fooding and Lodging (Accommodation will be be provided for one week on twin sharing basis)

After Dec 31st 2017:

• 500 Euro without accommodation
• 900 Euros with Fooding and Lodging (Accommodation will be be provided for one week on twin sharing basis).

For registration, only 20% of the fees has to be paid in advance which will be non refundable.
